The reason of this top is from one customer, he has bought 24pcs  3.2v 50Ah battery from me , then he want to use his former charger for his 72V 50Ah lifepo4  Battery .but he tell me he want the 72V 20A lifepo4 Battery Charger . so i write it as below 

Firsly we need to be clear for the different type of battery ,we need to use different charger .Lead acid , NCM  Battery and LIFEPO4 Battery the charger is different , therefore fwe cant mix it to use . 

How to Choose a Charger for 72V 50Ah LiFePO4 Battery

Firstly  Step 1: Confirm Cell Series and Charging Voltage

 

The standard configuration for a 72V LiFePO4 battery is 24 cells in series.

 

Full charge voltage per LiFePO4 cell is 3.65V.

 

Full charge cut-off voltage = 24 × 3.65V = 87.6V

 

✅ Core mandatory requirement as below :

 

Must buy a 72V 24-series LiFePO4 dedicated charger with an output voltage of 87.6V.

 

❌ pls note :  Never use an 84V charger for ternary lithium or lead-acid batteries,  Because it cannot fully charge the battery.  if you Use  an even higher voltage ,it will cause cell swelling and damage the battery management system (BMS). so that is the problems . 

 

Secondly Step 2: Select Charging Current for 72V 50Ah LiFePO4

 
The recommended charging rate for LiFePO4 batteries is 0.1C ~ 0.2C, it can be  for optimal battery protection.
 
  • 0.1C: 5A (slowest, best for battery lifespan, minimal heat generation)
  • 0.2C: 10A (balanced charging speed and service life, best daily choice)
  • Emergency fast charging: Optional 15A.  but do not use a higher current; it will damage cells and the BMS with excessive heat.
 

So the Estimated Full Charging Time as below :

 
  • 5A: Approximately 10 hours
  • 10A: Approximately 5 hours
  • 15A: Approximately 3.3 hours
 

Thirdly Step 3: Direct Charger Recommendations

 
  1. Household long-term use / overnight charging

     

    👉 Choose: 87.6V 5A LiFePO4 dedicated charger

     
  2. Daily commuting, balance of speed and battery life

     

    👉 Top pick: 87.6V 10A LiFePO4 dedicated charger

     
  3. Frequent urgent use, need quick power replenishment

     

    👉 Optional: 87.6V 15A (not recommended to exceed 15A)

     
 

Fourthly : Step 4: Key Parameters to Verify

 
  1. Clearly marked: 24-series LiFePO4, output 87.6V
  2. Built-in functions: Automatic stop when full, trickle float charging, over-voltage, over-current, short-circuit and reverse connection protection
  3. Matching port: Aviation connector / T-port / DC port consistent with your battery socket
  4. Choose models with cooling fans and pure copper windings for stable performance and durability.
 

In Conclusion:

 
Simply purchase a 72V 24-series LiFePO4 dedicated charger with 87.6V output, and choose either 5A or 10A current. Do not buy the 84V version for ternary lithium batteries.
