LFP/Lifepo4 batteries charging have to be above 3.33V?

step8-2(1)

for Lifepo4 batteries, is it enough if we only charge them above 3.33V?

Charging for Lifepo4 Batterythis is a very common queston : how to charging our E-BIKE LIFEPO4 OR E Mortor Battery ?

Firstly use conclusion: For daily scenarios, an LFP battery is fully functional and considered fully charged once its resting voltage is above 3.33V, and you can stop charging at this stage.

Why is pressurized charging to 3.65V required?

1. 3.33V = the actual stable full-charge voltage after the battery rests

2. 3.65V = the pressurized peak voltage during the charging process

so The complete charging process as below
The charger boosts the voltage to 3.65V → stop charging → the voltage drops spontaneously → stabilize at 3.33~3.35V. so we can conclude

the available full voltage you actually use is always around 3.33V.

Is it necessary to charge to 3.65V every day?
✅ For daily travel and regular cycling use: Charging above 3.33V is completely sufficient. There is no need to reach the 3.65V peak every time.

Long-term frequent forced charging to 3.65V will instead:

• Accelerate battery aging

• Cause cell swelling

• Shorten cycle life

So The most battery-friendly charging range for LFP batteries will lbe as below :
Discharge the battery to 20%–30% before recharging
Stop charging at 85%–90% power (corresponding to a resting voltage of about 3.30V)
This method achieves the slowest capacity attenuation and the longest service life.

Finally  lets  summary it
For daily durability, charging above 3.33V is adequate. There is no need to adopt pressurized charging to 3.65V every day.
Pressurized full charging to 3.65V is only needed occasionally for long-term storage, full power supplementation, or cell balance calibration.

More and more E-BIKE AND E MOTOR  will use the lifepo4 Battery to replace the Acid battery . so it is necessary for us to acknowledge some basic information of LIFEPO4 Battery .
