Core Problems Caused by Matching a Small Motor with a Large Battery<\/h3><div>\u00a0<\/div><h3>1. Severe insufficient power, weak starting and climbing performance<\/h3><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><p>No matter how high the battery voltage or large the capacity is, it is the motor power that determines traction and climbing capability.<\/p><div>\u00a0<\/div><p>A small motor cannot bear heavy loads or climb steep slopes. It starts sluggishly and lacks power when carrying goods or going uphill.<\/p><\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><h3>2. Motor prone to long-term overload, overheating and coil burnout<\/h3><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>A large battery has a high maximum discharge current. Drivers tend to twist the accelerator sharply or drive uphill with heavy loads. The small motor bears current far exceeding its design load. Long-term high temperature leads to insulation aging and eventually motor burnout.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><h3>3. Controller prone to MOS tube breakdown and burning out<\/h3><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>Large batteries feature high voltage and high discharge current. Low-power controllers have a small inherent current limit. Forced matching with a large battery and impact of large current will break down the MOS tube and directly scrap the controller.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><h3>4. Maximum speed cannot be increased, resulting in wasted large battery<\/h3><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>The maximum vehicle speed is determined by motor speed, and the upper speed limit of a small motor is fixed. Even if a large 72V battery is installed, the maximum speed cannot be improved \u2014 only the cruising range is extended, causing unnecessary waste on battery cost.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><h3>5. Cruising range seems longer but efficiency decreases<\/h3><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>When a small motor is matched with a high-voltage and large-capacity battery, it works outside the optimal efficiency range. Power consumption rises and virtual battery capacity increases, so the actual endurance is far less than the theoretical value.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><h3>6. Increased overall vehicle weight, faster wear of frame and shock absorbers<\/h3><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>Large batteries are heavier. The small motor has to drive the heavy battery, vehicle body and cargo together, which easily causes frame deformation, damaged shock absorbers and accelerated tire wear.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><h2>II. Classic Example: 1.5kW Motor<\/h2><div>\u00a0<\/div><h3>1. Wrong matching scheme (Forcibly equipping a small motor with an oversized battery)<\/h3><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><p>Case: A 72V 1.5kW motor forcibly matched with a 72V 120Ah\/150Ah large lithium battery<\/p><div>\u00a0<\/div><p>Phenomena occurred:<\/p><\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><ol><li>It can travel a long distance on flat roads with no load, but the acceleration is extremely slow and it struggles to carry even one passenger;<\/li><li>It has to move slowly on steep rural slopes; slight acceleration will make the motor hum and overheat;<\/li><li>When carrying heavy loads in summer, the motor becomes scalding hot after continuous driving of 20 kilometers. Many users burn out the motor once every six months;<\/li><li>The controller frequently activates current limiting protection and suddenly cuts off power intermittently.<\/li><\/ol><div>\u00a0<\/div><h3>2. Reasonable battery specification matching for 72V 1.5kW motor<\/h3><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>According to industry standard configuration and conventional matching of load and endurance:<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><ul><li><div><p>Daily household use \/ light cargo transportation &amp; daily commute:<\/p><div>\u00a0<\/div><p>72V 50Ah\uff5e60Ah lead-acid \/ lithium battery is the most suitable<\/p><\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><\/li><li><div><p>Occasional light cargo transportation &amp; long endurance demand:<\/p><div>\u00a0<\/div><p>72V 80Ah is the upper limit<\/p><\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><\/li><li><div>Absolutely not recommended: Matching a 72V 100Ah and above battery with a 1.5kW small motor. It is a complete waste and will damage the vehicle.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><\/li><\/ul><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>Simple rule: The smaller the motor power, the more rational the battery capacity configuration should be. The voltage can remain the same, but the capacity must be controlled.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><h2>III. Two Common Real Market Cases for Easy Understanding<\/h2><div>\u00a0<\/div><h3>Case 1: 60V 1000W small motor matched with 60V 100Ah large battery<\/h3><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><p>Problems:<\/p><div>\u00a0<\/div><p>Slow start, unable to climb small slopes with 250kg cargo; long-term low thermal attenuation of the motor, serious range shrinkage in winter; the controller burns out twice a year. Repair shops often encounter vehicles with such randomly modified configurations.<\/p><\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><h3>Case 2: 72V 2.2kW standard motor unreasonably matched with 72V 200Ah oversized lithium battery<\/h3><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><p>Problems:<\/p><div>\u00a0<\/div><p>Although the power is sufficient, the overweight battery presses and deforms the frame; large current impact easily heats up the wiring terminals and burns out the wires; an extra cost of over 1000 yuan is spent on the battery, while the actual maximum speed and power are not improved \u2014 only a slight increase in range, which is completely uneconomical.<\/p><\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><h2>IV.
