Factor to effect the charging time of E-BIKE LIFEPO4 Battery
As plan, I don’t introduce the charging time of lifepo4 (LFP) Battery again , IT include he 12V Lifepo4 deep cycle, 36v Golf cart Battery , .Storage Energy System and so on . .but still many users come to inquiry , they are especially for the E-bike, Electric Motorbike and Electric tricycle ,keke ,tuktuk .
1. The feature of the E-bike ,E-Motorbike. E-tricycle and E -scooter.
1)firstly the factor is the Battery charging and discharging the Rate .
normally these battery will be produced by the high rate battery , what’s the charging rate, pls check my previous article as below :
What the relationship of Ah. Ampere ,Wh
pls note some DIY users will use the storage Energy to produce the power Battery , it is not good .
Electric Bike Battery is like 48V 30Ah, , Electric motor bike Battery like 60V 30Ah, some high speed Electric motorbike like Spiro will use the 72V 45Ah
2) Secondly the Capacy of lifepo4 ( LFP ) Battery .
about the capacity , we need to know the basic information, many guys cant differentiate the capacity ,current ,and power . so pls check the basic information of Ampere, Ah and Wh . it is very important .
like the 72V 45Ah Lifepo4 Electric motorbike Battery , the capacity is 45Ah
3) The charger of lithium ion Battery
pls check your charger Current . it is 5A or 9A 10A Or 15A or 20A. it is very ,it will directly effect your charging time .
pls note it : Some big current charger only used for the Battery to support the fast charging . otherwise it will damage the battery or result in the more serious safety problem. now in order to guarantee the safety of battery . we mostly use the lifepo4 (LFP) Battery to produce the battery to used on vehicles . but some manufacture also will use the NCM Lithium ion battery .
Recently ,many company which running the swap business , they will use their customized charger and lLIFEPO4 (LFP) Battery , the reason is For the safety , efficiency
2. charging time of E-BIKE.E-MOTOBIKE and E-keke
THE Time will be the as below :
T TIME= Battery capacity /current of Charger
for example : one 72.V 100Ah keke Battery , he use the 10A charger
the time = 100Ah/10A= 10h
if he is using the 60V 50Ah Battery
the time =50Ah/10A=5 H
3. The safety and Efficiency of charging
Actually sometime we cant reach the safety and Efficiency of charging at same time . or we just need to find some balance between them .
Safety range of charging wil be 0.2-0.5C of capacity
0.2C will be good to the Battery
0.3-0.4C will be reasonable for the fast charging ,but you need to clearly know your single cell specification. mostly for the swap company .their Battery and charger were customized.
4 tips of charging your Battery
- )if you are end users of E-BIKE , E-Motorbike E-keke, pls choose the safety charging , only 0.2C of the Battery Capacity.
- ) don’t mix the lead acid and lithium ion Charging . and dont mix the Lifepo4(LFP) OF NCM Lithium ion battery Charger
- )If you dont know your keke or e-motobicyle Battery , Pls dont use the fast charging station .
